Week 4 Reading Notes: Adam and Eve, Part B

Leaving the Garden
- "God planted the garden in the east of the earth"
- God made Adam leave the garden
- God is merciful and pity
- made Adam dwell in the western border of the garden, in the Cave of Treasures
- God had pity on them though

Entering the Cave of Treasures
- Adam did not understand God's words, so God explained it to him
- Jesus would come and save the world, Adam's offspring
- God made a covenant with Adam
- Adam and Eve fell on their faces in front of God and trembled with fear
- Adam wept at his altered flesh

They Die a First Time
- they prayed in a tongue unknown to us in the cave
- Eve thought Adam was dead, and cried out to God begging for forgiveness
- she prayed that if God would not raise him from the dead, that she would want to die so she doesn't have to live alone because they are one
- God raised them and comforted them

The Beasts of Creation
- they hearts were strengthen and felt that God was a mother and father
- the Lord had pity on Adam and then commanded the beats and birds to respond to Adam and Eve
- eventually, they came out of the Cave of Treasures and saw the root of the Tree of Life and it tormented them

Want of Water and Light
- Adam was raised from the dead and they cried and looked at the garden a second time
- Adam and Eve were burning with thirst, heat, and sorrow
- Adam and Eve could not see each other, but only hear each other

The Darkness
- the Lord spoke to Adam and said he deprived him of bright light because of his transgression, but he did not turn him into darkness
- his wrath could have destroyed them, but the Lord had mercy

The Sunrise and the Serpent
- they found Satan at the gate, wriggling on the ground (his curse from the Lord)
- the serpent tried to kill them, but Adam protected eve
- God then sent an angel to protect them both
- the serpent was struck dumb and spoke no more

Suicide and Salvation
- Adam fell on the earth and the word of the Lord came to him
- they praised the Lord from delivering them from the dead
- Adam threw himself off a mountain
- Eve remained on the mountain then threw herself after him
- the Lord saved them

Worship and Blessing
- they made an altar to worship him
- they begged for forgiveness of their sins
- God told Adam not to kill himself to be an offering
