Wikipedia Trail ... From Parable of the Lost Sheep to Dram (Week 5 Extra Credit)

 1. Parable of the Lost Sheep

After I wrote my microfiction, this parable was on my mind. I love how it is not the only parable of its kind, and how there are others with similar messages and interpretations.

One of the parables that is similar to The Parable of the Lost Sheep. In this, a woman looses ten silver coins (Greek drachmae) and loses one.

A drachmae is an ancient Greek currency, used from the Archaic period up to the Roman period. It was also considered to be a small unit of weight.

The dram is a unit of mass in the avoirdupois system. In ancient Greece, it was both a coin and a weight.
